PRESENTATION: Integrated Safety and Security Planning

The intrinsic link between safety, security and crowd management, and the constant monitoring, re-development and management of this important triangulation, are key to the resilience and reliability of an event. To improve effectiveness or efficiency (whether of infrastructure or human resources), these three parameters should be considered together.

As the knowledge and implementation of each area advances, many responsible organisations are beginning to support new innovations, instead of sticking with an ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ attitude. And these considered changes are creating a better environment and more supportive context for events.

Using the example of one major European festival and one key international venue, Chris Kemp will show how small, proactive changes to key areas can make huge differences to the safety and security of both staff and audience alike.
