Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups at Events
Chair: Sabine Funk, International Training for Crowd & Safety Management (IBIT)
Today’s live event industry attracts a wider demographic of audiences, and with it, audience members with a greater range of needs than ever. From unique challenges posed by dealing with underaged audiences and families, to specific cultural and religious considerations; to special access needs and how best to mitigate and manage someone having a mental health crisis during an event, ensuring the safety and well-being of the audience and staff is no easy task.
Aside from practical considerations, where do the boundaries of Duty of Care lie legally, and should the live events industry be adopting common standards? Sabine Funk invites a line-up of guest speakers to discuss the most current lines of thought.
